For those able to attend Sunday Service, CMF would like to have a "prayer of sending" for us as a team at the end of the service.
We will provide sandwiches for lunch before we leave on Sunday.
Serving others, road trips, bunk beds, evening speakers/worship, building friendships new and old... it's the makings of an epic Summer trip!
Serving the disadvantaged in Philadelphia, PA. We partner with local churches to serve the community, care for people, and build the Church.
Philly Project: Loving and serving in the city! The Philly Project gives us the opportunity to spend time among brothers and sisters in Christ as we reach out to their neighbors. It's a great chance to live life for a week in a world very different than our own. Join us as we partner with a highly renowned service organization leading the way.
What is Philly Project's "Summer of Service"?
“Mission Trip with Summer Camp vibes”. SOS is our busiest time of year where we host around 100 youth group participants a week for 7 weeks every summer. Weeklong mission trips for students who have completed 6-12th grade. We challenge youth to serve whole-heartedly in our community and to think critically about how God’s Word speaks to social and spiritual issues. Our prayer is that God uses this extended experience of service, worship, and fellowship to make an eternal impact on youth and those they serve as well as a visible impact offering hope and restoration to our community.

Times: we meet at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning (after Sunday service) to load up vans. We plan to leave between 11:45 and noon. UPDATE: we are hoping to pull out by 11:45 if it all possible. So be here at 11ish, but 11:30 at the latest!!
We return midday Saturday July 18th. We will send out a Remind message with better times as we know more.
TWO UPDATES FROM OUR LEADERS IN PHILLY:
Weather: Please pay attention to the weather as you are packing. Every room does have air conditioning however the building can still get pretty hot. Also some of our sites may still work in the rain so please be prepared for that.
Knight Games: This year our theme is Upside Down Kingdom. In the evening we will be playing games that involve knights or anything medieval. Students can dress up for those games as a knight, a mythical creature or anything else medieval they'd like. Who knows, maybe we'll have a surprise visitor from a dragon!
Dress Code from Philly Project:
Participants are on mission at all times: at ministry sites and at the housing facility. A lot of
advance work has been done to ensure that residents of the community know who we are
and why we are there. We are closely watched. How we dress is an important part of our
witness. Participants should make a special effort to wear clothes that are modest and
appropriate for the work to which we have been called.
-Sleeved shirts are to be worn by all participants at all times (no cutoffs, tank tops,
spaghetti straps, or midriffs) at ministry sites, the housing facility, and on the way to
and from the showers. If the sleeves are torn off the shirt, it no longer meets the
code.
-Everyone must bring at least one pair of long pants. Pants made of heavy cloth, like
denim, are preferred.
-Shorts are acceptable at most ministry sites and the housing facility. Shorts should
be modest in length. No short shorts.
-Participants are to be fully dressed in accordance with this dress code anytime they
are outside their assigned room at the housing facility. Shorts or long pants and
sleeved shirts are required in hallways, in worship, and in route to showers and
restrooms.
-Durable shoes with closed toes must be worn at all ministry sites. Sandals are not
acceptable. Shoes or boots with heavy soles are recommended for construction
projects
