Check out our Summer 2024 Calendar!
Middle Schoolers join us for an evening of Summer fun!
Our Summer Meet-Ups are a little like our school year Meet in the Middle; lots of games, team challenges, tons of fun, snacks, and community!
Water Games is a student favorite because it ends with our legendary foam slip-n-slide. You DO NOT want to miss it!
Join us at the Covington Applebee's for one of our favorite High School events, Late Night Apps!
Bring a few bucks for your meal (we recommend $15-$20), grab a friend, and enjoy some time with your FSM fam.
BBBQ is short for Bibles and Bar-B-Que and that means:
1) A BBQ - We've got dinner covered, along with all the fun of yard games, volleyball, and hanging out with friends.
2) The Bible - We also have a short teaching from God's word. This week, we'll hear from our friend Weston Foucher from Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.
This year we're on the road visiting different locations. As always, please drive respectfully and slowly through neighborhoods and on gravel roads so you don't kick up dust. Carpool if you can. And, when you arrive please look for parking instructions.
*We officially end at 8:00 PM but have a bonus bonfire at the end, more details will be shared week of.
**This event does not have a cost but donations to help cover food are appreciated!
Join us for Lake Day at the Hasslinger's on Lake Tapps from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
We'll be BBQ-ing, swimming, playing lawn games, hanging out, boating, and hearing from the one and only Taylor Ford from Calvary Community Church!
A few things to note:
1) Come in your swimwear if you would like to swim, tube, or play on the lake. There are places to change, but the line will get long if everyone needs to change before and after.
2) Carpool if you can; parking is limited.
3) Come when you can. The event will start at 3:30 PM, but you can certainly come late if you need to, and if you need to leave before 8:00 PM, that's okay too. *Please check in with Jake or Billy if you arrive late or need to leave early*
4) A FSM 2024 release form is required for this event. You (and your friends) can have your parents submit it online and confirm it via their email. You're set for the rest of the year if you filled one out for camp. If unsure, email [email protected] to check if you have one on file.
*This event does not have a cost, but donations to help cover food are accepted!
The Gathering is for 6th-12th grade students. We gather to worship together, take a look at God’s word, and have some fun! The Gathering is a great place to get to know God and meet some new people. Join us on Sunday mornings during the 9:00 AM service in the High School Room (on the northwest side of the campus).
The Gathering will happen every Sunday in July except July 28th!
Last Sunday, we started a brand new series on influence and leadership called More Than Likely To.
When you hear the word "leader," you might think about an influential artist or celebrity, a famous politician,
a coach, a captain or club president, or someone who is just plain cool.
And, sure, those people could definitely be leaders! But these aren’t the only ways to lead. Great leaders don't have to have official positions, titles, or people who report to them. With God, being a great leader is something anyone can achieve because leadership is applied influence and is about becoming the kind of person who's worth following.
But how? In this four-week series, we'll look at the example of Jesus, plus ordinary people like Moses, Solomon, and the apostle Paul, who were all given opportunities to lead and make a difference in others' lives. Through their examples (both good and bad), we'll see how great leaders are the people most likely to follow through, choose to love, choose integrity, and follow God's lead.
Each of our series has an On Your Own Devotional:
Check out Most Likely To ... on YouVersion and bible.com for a month of study.
Sunday, July 7th - Most Likely To, Week 2
This Sunday, we'll look at the Ten Commandments and see what Jesus had to say about the greatest commandment.
BIG IDEA: Great leaders are the most likely to choose love.
WHERE IN GOD’S WORD: Exodus 20:1–17; Matthew 22:34–39
Questions to ask your student this week:
Who do you look up to as a leader who loves people well? What do they do well?
How would you describe what love is to someone else?
Read 1 Corinthians 13:4–7.
What sticks out to you in this passage about what it means to love others well?
What do you think it looks like to love God and others the way Jesus encourages us to do?
What is one change you can make to be a leader who chooses love?
Sunday, July 14th - Most Likely To, Week 3
This Sunday, we’ll hear from Paul and Proverbs about how to live with integrity.
BIG IDEA: Great leaders are the most likely to choose integrity.
WHERE IN GOD’S WORD: Philippians 4:8–9; Proverbs 11:3
Questions to ask your student this week:
How important is consistency in leadership? Why?
What does someone have to do to earn your trust?
If you have cheated or cut corners, how do you think your actions affected how people see or trust you?
Why is having integrity so difficult sometimes?
What steps can you take to grow in integrity?
Who is one leader you know who leads with integrity?
What is one thing that they do that you can put into practice?
Sunday, July 21st - Most Likely To, Week 4
This Sunday, we’ll focus on Paul’s encouragement to the Thessalonians and read a psalm on staying close to God.
BIG IDEA: Great leaders are most likely to follow God's lead.
WHERE IN GOD’S WORD: 1 Thessalonians 1:2–9; Psalm 119:9–18
Questions to ask your student this week:
What qualities make someone a leader worth following?
Have you ever had to show someone around or teach them something new? What was that like?
What is one thing in Paul's letter that helps you see what it looks like to follow Jesus?
What would it look like to put that into practice?
What are some of the gifts and passions God has given you?
What is one way you can use those gifts this week to lead well?
Where are some of the places God has placed you?
What would it look like to be a leader who follows Jesus in those spaces?
Sunday, July 28th - No Gathering, Block Party
Join us for our annual Block Party, this year earlier in the Summer on the Sunday after MEGA!
Service is at 10 AM and the Block Party is immediately following service.
Groups are where students grow! FSM Groups are where we cultivate real relationships with God, each other, and our leaders. Together we dig into God’s Word, and through purposeful conversation, we make its truth tangible. Groups are a great place to grow with God.
Group will return in September
