Hi Student Ministry Families!
The year rolls on. Over the past few weeks and into this month we've been talking about the importance of spiritual disciplines: habits that help us grow closer to God. Specifically, we've highlighted four disciplines - Prayer, Scripture, Worship, and Community. We'll wrap up this series on Oct 12.
On October 19, my friend and Crossroads missionary, Mark Kato, will be joining us. Mark serves with Apex Missions, the youth and young adult missions branch of the EFCA. We've partnered with Apex for our trips to Laredo this past summer and Miami in '23. Mark is going to be sharing about calling - and how God calls each of us to carry out His kingdom mission. This will serve as a great bridge between our teaching series as we shift gears to begin our new series about Spiritual Gifts on Oct 26!
Connecting all of these ideas together, we see that spiritual disciplines help us connect more deeply with God. When we're rooted in Him, we can more clearly see discern God's calling in our lives. And as we look to live out that calling, we want to identify and use the ways God has gifted us in order to be effective disciplemakers!
Over the past month, we've been able to reintroduce musical worship back to our Sunday night programming. Nearly 15 students showed up to learn about serving on the worship and tech team, and 10 of them have committed to serve! We're grateful to Claire Carnes and Micah Watson for helping launch and lead the team!
Make sure to take note of our calendar, upcoming Winter Retreat registration, save the date for Challenge Conference (high school, summer 2026), and a new parent resource!
