At Crossroads, one of our measures for an authentic disciple is that they are humbly leading by words and actions. Authentic followers of Jesus pursue influencing others toward Jesus by sharing truth and living out that truth themselves.
That's why we're starting a new series called Influencer. This two-week series will help us discover that authentic leadership begins with our identity in Christ and flows through our everyday examples and character rather than position or popularity.
Influence is kind of a big deal. We're surrounded by influencers on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram with massive platforms and thousands, even millions, of followers. And because of what influence looks like today, we might be tempted to think that if we're going to influence others, that we need massive platforms to do so. But what if that's not true?
This week we'll see that leaving your mark on the world doesn't require followers or fame. It requires something deeper. All of our leadership and all of our influence and leadership starts with knowing who you are in Christ.
