CAMP DEPOSITS DUE MARCH 4th!!!!
CAMP DEPOSITS DUE MARCH 4th!!!!
We continue our series on Dating, Relationships, and Sex. This week we are covering God's design for sexuality.
The BIG IDEA: Sex is a BIG DEAL to God; handling sex God's way should be a BIG DEAL to us.
Our Students are surrounded by, being bombarded with messages about sex and sexuality (media, music, school, culture, etc.). God also has a lot to say about sex. In fact, He created it, so it is very important that they hear what God has to say about sex. I hope your student is able to attend. Parent, you are welcome, too.
Open Gym until 7:30pm following ReLoad.
Don't forget to set your clocks forward 1 hour Saturday night.
Week 4 of our series, God, Guys, and Girls. This week, we will finish up our series talking about dating.
The BIG IDEA: Unless I am actively pursuing a relationship with Christ, all other relationships will be a hopeless attempt to fill that void.
We will look at the following key points:
- Honor and respect
- Being Equally Yoked
- Setting Boundaries
- Pursuing Christ
Again, I hope your student can attend.
No REGULAR evening Youth Activites. Instead we will head to Hoptown to take in a Crowder Concert.
DETAILS:
- We will meat at the church at 5:00 pm, Load Vans and head to Hopkinsville
- Eat at ______________________, then head to the James E Bruce Convention Center.
- Concert begins at 7:30. There is an opening band. So, I don't expect Crowder to take the stage until 8:00. Assuming a 1 1/2 hour concert, I don't expect us back to the Zone until 11:00 pm.
KY CHANGER DEPOSITS DUE APRIL 8th!!!!
OVERSEXUALIZED WORLD
Parents, I don't have to tell you that we live in an oversexualized world. Our students don't have to look for sexual images, overtly sexual song lyrics, or even sexual conversation. It finds them.
Unlike us, when we were teens, these students are "connected" 24 hrs a day, whether it is on their smart phone, tablet, computer, or TV. And, let's face it, TV is more graphic than it has ever been. With streaming options like Netflix, or Spotify, one can watch TV or movies whenever, or listen to music, whenever. A harmless internet search on their phone can bring up a link or image that is sexual in nature. (I recently experienced this, myself while searching for Weber grills. Who knew?!) Never mind the talk they hear at school, or a text a classmate shares at school.
So, what are we to do? First, pray. Pray for our students. Teach them that their worth is NOT defined by their sexuality, or by whether they have a boyfriend or girlfriend, but by the relationship Christ creates in them and lives in them. Our BIG IDEA in our Sunday Night series is as follows: If you aren't actively pursuing a relationship with Christ, all other relationships will be a hopeless attempt to fill that void. As a Christian, they will never "feel" completely "at home" in the world. They may never feel comfortable with what they hear and see at school. They aren't supposed to, because they know Christ.
Partnering With You,
