Great Exchange is an annual youth conference on Good Friday for Kingston & Area teens.
Good Friday is a day many of us get off of work and school. It's also a really important day in Christianity. Good Friday is the day where we think about and reflect on the death and coming resurrection of Jesus. Great Exchange was created to help students spend the day in a spiritual significant and impactful way.
Our theme this years is NOTHING ELSE. It is based on 1 Corinthians 2:2, "I have determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified."
The Conference portion of the day runs from 1:30 to 8:30 and is filled with worship music, powerful speakers, BreakOut sessions, games and great food.
DOORS OPEN AT 1:00 // REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 1:30 and event begins.
At 8:30 students can be picked up, or...

Students are about to dive deep into some of the most common question about life and the Christian faith This study explores how a biblical worldview provides the best explanations for some of toughest questions in life. We're not going to cover every detail, but we are going to walk systematically through major issues and arguments students will face as they share and live their faith. By the end of the study, students will be more equipped to fully understand and own their faith.

Jesus is the son of God. Through this series, students will grapple with the idea that Jesus lived a human life just like them. He was tempted
and uncomfortable. He was hungry and thirsty. He felt joy and sadness. He felt all of the things that we feel. He lived on earth being
tempted, but never sinned. Because even though Jesus was fully human, he is also God. This series is jam-packed full of incredibly rich
Jesus-centred conversations waiting to happen!
I will listen to what God the Lord says. He promises peace to his faithful people. | Psalm 85:8b
This Month
Son of God #4 - Sinless // Jesus lived a sinless life // Luke 4:1-13

• Jesus responded to temptation with Scripture; Satan knew Scripture, but used it in deceptive ways
• Jesus shows us how to fight temptation
Son of God #5 - Learn // Jesus invited others to learn from him // Luke 5:1-11
• Jesus invited friends to come and learn from him
• We can learn from Jesus, too
• We can join with others to learn from Jesus, together
• We can help others learn about Jesus
• We are disciples, and are called to make disciples too!
• Jesus surrounded himself with people
An article from the web to get you thinking . . .
Today's marijuana is not the same weed that was available when your generation was growing up as teenagers. These days, marijuana carries a much bigger punch.
A new study released in March 2015 found that marijuana today is up to three times more powerful than back in the 1980s.
The research was conducted in Colorado using more than 600 legal marijuana samples provided by recreational retail merchants. Results of the study found that the test samples contained quantities of the chemical that makes people "high" - tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) --of between 20% and 30%. By contrast, the THC levels from marijuana samples tested during the 1980s were all under 10%.
Why the big uptick in the levels of THC in marijuana? The researchers pointed to pot growers crossbreeding different marijuana strains - as users have demanded stronger marijuana -- for the cause of the increase.
Why it matters:
- Cultural acceptance of recreational marijuana use (and specifically within youth culture) is on the rise. Parents should assume that their teenagers will be exposed to marijuana use.
- Teens might be aware of the increase of marijuana potency, but likely do not have any realistic perspective of what more powerful pot means, especially for those teens who have never experimented with marijuana before.
- Parents should take the initiative to discuss marijuana use with their teenagers, to gain insight into the prevailing attitudes and behaviors concerning marijuana among their teen's peers and friends, and to set clear expectations and consequences regarding experimentation and use by their kids.
