The Rummage Sale is here!!
Our annual Rummage Sale, which supports our Youth Summer mission trip, is March 16 and 17th. All students who are planning on going on this year's mission trip to Houston are required to work a minimum of 12 hours, if they want to receive the discounted price. If your student is planning on joining us in 2019 for our international trip, they will be asked to work an additional 4 hours. If your student is not joining us this year but is planning on joining us in 2019, we ask those students to work at least 8 hours. This year we are also asking every parent to volunteer.
How can you help?
Pick-ups--We will be picking up furniture and other items every day until March 13. If you have a trailer that you can use to help with pick-ups or can drive one and are available Saturday, March 10 or Sunday, March 11, please let me know. We will be picking up items from a community garage sale in Tatum Ranch.
Food--We will need some volunteers to help in the kitchen as well as supply food for our volunteers. If you are interested in helping with food, please let me know. We will need extra help on March 10th.
Unloading the Container--Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11, we will be in need of as many volunteers as we can have to unload the two containers, back patio, Teen Center closet, and everywhere else nook and cranny in the Teen Center. We will need adults to carefully pull things out of the container and students to move all of our stuff to the proper location. If you are available, we will need you.
March 10-14--Sorting, pricing and everything else. During the week of March 10-14, which is PV and Scottsdale's spring break, we need parents and students to do the work to get everything ready for the sale. If your student is available, we will take them as many days as they are willing to work as there is a lot of work to do.
For working parents--We will have a night shift on Monday, March 12, starting at 3:30, or whenever you can get here, until 7:30 pm. We will be sorting for the Tuesday morning shift. If your student is not on spring break and they need hours, this is extra time for them and you to volunteer.
Parents, the Rummage Sale is not just for the students but also for you. It allows you to send your student on life-changing mission trips at a fraction of the cost. Without the proceeds of the Rummage sale, our yearly mission trips would cost you anywhere from $500 for the local trip to over $1600 for our international ones. So many older men and women donate countless hours of their time and energy to the Rummage Sale, out of love for your students. I encourage you to do your part this year to make this year's rummage sale the biggest one yet.
