Ninja News May 2018

Hey Hey Hey!

Thank you for checking out the latest news and updates from our ministry. God has moved in really cool ways over the last month. We are hitting out stride as we wrap up the end of the semester and go into the summer months. Here are some of the results of the events we have done since the last newsletter:

Events - 11

April/May Attendance Total - 4,235

I could write so many stories about each one of these events. I won't bore you with all the details but I would like to walk through some of the highlights. This was our THIRD time to go to Whitewright! I thought the students would be bored on the third time through, but the students seemed even more excited than the two events prior. I shared a different message than usual. I emphasized the obstacle fear can play in our life and how it can keep us from accomplishing God's purpose in our life. It was a great night! Then I had the privilege of doing an event at both of my sons' schools! They both helped me out as testers in front of their peers. I was so proud of them and so glad to be serving the Lord with my family! Those were special events to say the least!

We had the event in Kenner, LA on the schedule for almost a year! I had the joy of going to their church on a Sunday morning and teaching youth Sunday School and then having an outreach event that night. We partnered with Winshape Camps in helping promote their summer camp at Williams BLVD Baptist Church. We saw many make professions of faith and they recently sent me a picture of one of the children being baptized:

Then, we were a part of a HUGE event at Baylor University called Dia Del Oso. There were concerts, games, and food all over the central part of campus. By God's grace we had the opportunity to be a part of this awesome event! The students loved the course! We had so many guys get up the wall! We even had a girl get up the salmon ladder. I didn't get to preach, but we had so many encouraging Christ centered conversations throughout the day. The Student Activity Director brought the President of the University over to come see what we were all about. I shared my story with her and she wanted to see some obstacles! So I showed her the course. It was great. They mentioned wanting to bring us back for future events as well. This was a great event! Here is some of the action from Baylor:

Then I went to my Grandparents home town! Our event was held in the Junior High gym of Mangham, Louisiana. My aunts played the first basketball game in that gym a few years back... and here I was getting to do a ninja event in that very gym with my mom helping out, my grandpa in the audience, my cousins working my bandana table, and four young men received Christ as Savior and Lord! You can't make this stuff up! 

Then we did an event close to home. I had the privilege of getting to preach the Sunday morning message at Friendship Baptist in Cleburne, TX. My former student, Tyler Lawhorn, serves as their youth pastor. Tyler also helps me with this ministry on a regular basis. We had a great outreach at their church that evening.

From there I went on a tour of East Texas. James McRight from FBC Carthage set up 3 school assemblies and an outreach at his church. We saw 22 professions of faith at the outreach event! It was unreal. God is using James to do amazing things out there! It was fun to spend a couple days with such a wise veteran youth pastor.

Then I went to Llano, TX to do a school assembly and an outreach event. We saw 24 professions of faith! It was such a joy serving with that group of men and women. A young man who had gone to a ninja gym in Houston and was really talented won our competition and later that night gave his life to Christ! He felt like God used his interest in our ninja warrior night to reveal his need for salvation. Again, you can't make this stuff up! Here are some pictures from some of these events:

Then we had an incredible opportunity to partner with World Orphans and Grant McCartney from American Ninja Warrior and Aaron Boyd from the band Bluetree. This was a fundraiser at FBC Grandview. Grant came from Hawaii and Aaron came from Ireland! I set up my course and we had about 10 other ninjas who have been competitors on ANW come to the event. It was a great outreach in our community and a great fundraiser for World Orphans. Go check them out at www.worldorphans.org

We just finished up an event at Rockhill Baptist Church in Brownsboro, TX with my great friend Brent Burden. We saw 6 young people receive Christ as Savior and Lord at that event. It was their end of the year party and we helped them go out with a bang.

Now we are gearing up for the summer! I cannot wait to be a part of so many camps! I will just do ninja warrior at some camps and other camps I will get to be camp pastor and do ninja stuff. Ninja by day and pastor by night! My wonderful wife and boys will be on the road with me most of the summer. Please pray for us to get plenty of rest, to have safe travels, and to be vessels that the Lord works through to change many lives. Here is the list of where we will be in the coming months:

Ministry Updates

- We got new mats! Thank the Lord for answering that prayer!

- My mom started the process of writing a children's new believers packet.

- We have started uploading a lot of videos to Youtube and will have Video Devotions on Youtube soon!
