Hey everyone,
Hey everyone,
Last night we introduced our Mission and values for the Student Ministries. This was a way of letting the students and leaders know what our Student Ministry's focus will be on. I would like to inform you as the parents as well!
Our Mission: To present students as mature in Christ
We get that from Colossians 1:28= We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
We are committed to proclaiming Christ. Our role as the student ministry of this church is to proclaim Christ by warning and teaching students with wisdom all with the goal of helping them become mature in Christ. Our goal is long-term. Not just life after high school, but life after death. We want to be a ministry that helps pave a path toward Christian maturity for the rest of their lives so that many years from now when they meet the Lord, they can be presented to Him in all maturity!
Our 4 values:
The way we measure "maturity in Christ" is simply "being like Christ" or "Christlikeness." The challenge is that students will grow to be like Christ in these four ways:
Humility (Philippians 2:6 [Not in it for Himself]): "It's not about me"
Hospitality (Philippians 2:7a [Becoming a servant to all]) "It's about them"
Love (Philippians 2:7b [becoming like us to reach us]) "It's about us (as a community)"
Devotion (Philippians 2:8 [Submitting Himself to the Father's will in all things]) "It's about Him"
Don't come here expecting a youth group night. Come ready to serve in the demo of Hope Hall.

This will be a regular youth group night. The only difference is MS & HS will combine for teaching.
On this night we will have students and leaders alike sharing their experiences from the mission trips they went on during the summer. This will be our last youth group meeting of the 2017-18 school years. We'll take a two week break on August 7 & 14 and we will kick-off on August 21st.
