Hello Parents,
The 12two Student Ministry team is looking forward to serving you and your students this Fall. This Fall we will be meeting on Fridays from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm for fellowship, worship, and teaching.
Both Middle School and High School students are welcome to attend.
Teaching on Fridays this Fall will include the book of James, a Q & A series, a series on Villains in the Bible and what we can learn from their stories, Gratitude, and look at famous Christmas carols and their connection to the Christmas story.
And on Fridays we will have an emphasis on small groups( divided by MS & HS) after the teaching time.
There will be 2 Fridays we will not meet on 11/23 for Thanksgiving weekend and on 12/7 for the UCC Christmas Concert.
Teaching on Sundays this Fall will include the book of Philippians, the book of Esther, the Great Commission to “Go”, and a look at the Christmas Story through the eyes of Mary, Joseph and the Magi.
And on Sundays we will end our time with communion and praying for one another.
There will be 3 Sundays we will not meet (9/2, 10/7, and 11/11) at 11:00 am and on those Sundays we encourage students to sit with their families or with their peers.
We will also be having a monthly activity for Middle School and High School students on Sundays after church for fellowship and as an opportunity to invite friends.
Our first activity for Middle School will be a trip to Sky Zone on September 9th. Cost for the event will be $20 and money for lunch ($10) on the way there or students can bring their own lunch. This event will be from 12:30-3:30.
Students also will need to have a waiver filled out here: skyzonetorrance.pfestore.com/waiver
Our first activity for High School will be getting lunch and then going on a hike to the Hollywood sign on September 30th. Students will need money for lunch or they can bring their own lunch. We will aim to be back at church between 3:30 and 4:00 pm.
You can find future activities for Middle School and High School on the below.
Our hope is that our youth ministry will be a place where your students belong and know they are loved. A place where your students are invited to believe and trust Jesus. And a place where your students are encouraged and challenged to become more like Jesus.
Please let me know if you have any questions about what we have planned this Fall.
Also I would love to hear any ideas or thoughts you may have as well.
I look forward to partnering with you as we minister to your students.
You can reach me by email at [email protected].
I hope to see you and your students this Fall and hope to hear from you soon.
Blessings,
Matt Wilson
