Well, 2019 is finally here! With the New Year comes a lot of plans and preparation for what the year holds, and that's true with student ministry, too! Even though the year has just begun and it's as cold as it's going to get outside, summer camp and activities are already on the mind! Believe me when I say, it is not too early to begin planning and preparing for summer camp, so please pay attention to those notices and info as they come (hint, hint, check out the Events below)! But before we think about fun in the sun, we have some winter activities to look forward. First and foremost is a church-wide Family Snow Day up at Snow Valley Resort. Whether you like to sled, ski, or snowboard, there is something for everyone to do up there, so please sign up and join us, your church family, in a day of fun in the snow (see Events below).
Besides yearly events, I also want parents and students a like to consider a mission trip opportunity. This year, as we did last year, we will be taking students to Kentucky for a week-long summer mission trip. This is a great service project trip for beginner and expert a like! The trip includes construction, gardening, recreation, worship, community outreach, evangelism, and Bible teaching opportunities. The corner stone of the trip is providing an after-school-like program for the youth of Cumberlands, Kentucky. Games are played, smoothies shared, and the Bible taught. The trip is all inclusive for $1,300 and is capped at 25 people, so please don't miss out! Sign up now! The first team meeting will be January 20th, following the second service.
There will be a lot of events going on here at Pathway Church, keeping you busy and occupied, but let me encourage you to not let that distract you from what is truly important-- Your relationship with Jesus Christ. As you settle into the routine of this year, let me encourage you to make spending time with Jesus a part of your every day schedule. Let me also encourage you to make a habit of coming to church and meeting with other Christians. Parents-- Prioritizing your walk with Jesus will help teach your student the value of faith in their lives. I am praying for an amazing 2019 for the students of Pathway, and I am excited to see how God uses parents and students a like for his glory. God bless!
