The Rummage Sale is almost here!!
Our annual Rummage Sale which supports our Youth Summer mission trip will be March 22nd and 23rd. All students who are planning on going on this year's mission trip to the Bahamas are required to work a minimum of 20 hours if they want to receive the discounted price (8 hours could have been banked from previous years). If your student is not joining us this year but would like to work, we would love to have them. This year we are also asking every parent to volunteer at least one 4-hour shift.
How can you help?
Pick ups--We will be picking up furniture and other items every weekend leading up to the sale. We are currently doing pick ups every week leading up to the sale. If you have a trailer that you can use to help with pick ups or can drive one and are available any Saturday in February or early March, please let me know. We now have 57 picks completed with more coming in every day. I am unavailable many of the Saturdays, so I need parent help. Thank you.
Food--We will need some volunteers to help in the kitchen as well as supply food for our volunteers. If you are interested in helping with food, please let me know. We will need extra help in the NEW kitchen. We will be publishing a menu so items can be dropped off a day in advance. We also need snacks and cookies.
Unloading the Container--Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, we need as many volunteers as possible to unload the FOUR containers on campus. We will need adults to carefully pull things out of the container and students to move all of our stuff to the proper location, and others to sort everything that has come in. If you are available, we will need you.
March 17-21--Sorting, pricing and everything else. During the week of March 16 to 21, which is PV's spring break, we need parents and students to do the work to get everything ready for the sale. If your student is available, we will take them as there will be a lot of work to do.
For working parents--We will have a night shift on Monday, March 18, and Tuesday, March 19, starting at 4:00 or whenever you can get here until 8:00 pm. We will be sorting for the following morning shift. If your student is not on spring break and they need hours, this is extra time for them and you to volunteer.
Patio Table--March 10th, following the 8 am and 10 am services, we will need people to help recruit volunteers to help work as well as promote the Rummage Sale. If you are having a hard time figuring out how you can help, or just like to mingle and talk to people, this is a great and easy way for you to serve.
Parents, the Rummage Sale is not just for the students but also you. It allows you to send your student on a life-changing mission trip at a fraction of the cost. Without the proceeds of the Rummage sale, this year's mission trip would cost $1800. Many older men and women donate countless hours of their time and energy to the Rummage Sale out of love for your students. I encourage you to do your part this year in helping make this year's rummage sale the biggest one yet.
