“You are as much serving God in looking after your children, in training them up in God’s fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts. ” -Charles Spurgeon.
Mothers,
You are honored and distinguished. The bible makes this very clear in Exodus telling us to honor our mothers (Ex. 20:12) and in Leviticus telling us to revere our mothers (Lev. 19:3). Raising children who follow our Lord and Savior is one of the most important tasks of living a Christian life on earth. Charles Spurgeon compares it to leading an army. David says children are a gift from God, they are like arrows in the hands of a warrior (Psalm 127:3-4). Mothers thank you so much for the job you do in being an example to our children, teaching the Word of God, praying with and for your families, and most important loving your families as Christ loves them. Partnering with you in raising disciples of Christ is both our biggest responsibility and our greatest joy. Thank you for the amazing job you do.
Sincerely,
Pastor Dwight
