The month of May is a beautiful, busy and full of blessings. It is beautiful as the earth wakes up from its winter’s nap and the birds are singing and the grass is green and the trees are blooming and getting their leaves once again and the lakes are full of fish that are ready to bite. When I look at all this beauty it is so easy to praise God for His glorious creation.
It is also a very busy month with baccalaureate, graduations and graduation parties. Graduation time is a very special time as we watch young people reach milestones and goals they have set as well as we get to be a part of their achievements. It is also a blessing to see them and listen to them as they share their hopes and dreams of their future.
Another blessing that comes in May is the reminder of our greatest blessing; our mothers. Mothers are beyond special and we often have great difficulty trying to find the words to not only express our gratitude but to adequately describe the influence they have on our lives. Perhaps Abraham Lincoln said it best when he said, “All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my mother.” Someone else said, “Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother.” I hope that we can each take some time and reflect and be thankful for the mothers that God has blessed us with.
God is so awesome, and I truly believe May is the perfect time amongst many to recognize his great blessings and give Him praise. It is not only an opportunity we have but an obligation as well. Psalm 150 tells us, ‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
