Hello!
I hope this newsletter finds you well. It has officially been six months since I was hired as New Life's youth director, and it has truly been amazing to see the growth of IMPACT and the youth when it comes to their relationship with the Lord. I want to thank you for your unwavering support and patience, as I continue to learn how to best serve your children and the rest of the youth. From Winter Camp to Friday Nights, it has been a privilege to be able to minister to and be a part of your child's unique journey.
Every two to three months, I will be sending out a newsletter that you may find very helpful. It will be consisting of a few things: a brief update of what is going on in IMPACT, a few articles that discuss parenting and how to communicate with this upcoming generation, and a list of upcoming events. I hope you find this newsletter informative as we partner together to help raise this next generation. Looking forward to what God does these next few months.
The main goal at IMPACT for these next summer months is to help your child solidify his or her understanding of their identity. Culture, unfortunately, finds a way to confuse us by presenting us with many different outlets to define ourselves with (grades, friends, appearance, success). The more we give in to these various outlets, the further we get from our true identity in Christ. This summer, through various sermons and discussions revolving around topics such as self-worth, loneliness, and friendship, the leadership team and I hope to give your child the tools and resources to grasp their identity from the only source that can provide a meaningful one. I encourage you to partner with us these next few months by continuing to encourage and openly communicate with your children that they are loved, they are enough, and that they do not need to pursue a false sense of worth and value.
If any of you would like to grab a coffee and just talk, I am still conducting office hours from 9:30AM - 12:30PM every Tuesday at the Harbor City campus. I would love to meet with you! Feel free to email me at [email protected] or shoot me a text at (310) 562-0705.
