Who are you?
Johnny Pulley
Tell us about yourself?
I am a 21 y/o college students, currently studying full time at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. I also
work part-time as an EMT with the City of Stoughton. I like spending time with my family (as there are 10 of
us).
Fun fact:
I am distantly related to Benny Goodman (he was my Grandfather’s cousin)
When did you begin serving at DV8?
I served at Elevate for two years, but this will be my first year officially serving with DV8 (though I have
helped in the kitchen at DV8 for years, as well as on their missions trips).
What is your favorite part of DV8?
For me the best part is getting to hangout with the students and help them as they go through challenges I went
through not too long ago.
Why serve this age group?
I touched on it in my previous reply, but I can resonate well with these “kids” as they go through these different
things in their life as I was there around four years ago. My prayers is that I can help and equip these young kids
to go out into the world with a faith that is their own, not merely an inheritance passed down from their parents.
Favorite Bible Verse(s):
I’m not going to lie; I’ve never had a favorite Bible verse. They always fluctuate and change (in all honesty, I
really don’t have many favorites, I like a lot of things equally). But right now, one I’m particularly fond of is
Psalms 121:1-2. I like how it reminds us that we, as humans, are completely and totally powerless without God.
More fun facts:
Sweet or Salty? Sweet, always (though I do like salt)
Movies or Books? I’ve been acquiring a growing taste for books as of late, but the answer is still movies.
Dogs or Cats? Dog, 100%. Cats have recently been growing on me, but I still find dogs the far superior species.
