Summer Mission Trip?LOCATION: Camp Grace (Roberta. GA)
We are going to partner with Camp Grace in Roberta, GA for a week-long mission trip for summer 2020! I am so very excited to be able to serve with Camp Grace, whose mission is to transform the lives of urban, underserved children and youth through grace with overnight camps. Their goal is to get our kids out of the city environment for extended overnight stays and to show them unconditional love and speak into their lives. 1 in 4 children in GA live below the poverty line, and nationally, 47% of urban youth will not graduate high school. Camp Grace strives to break the cycle of poverty, crime, and the high school drop out rate. Their primary focus is to change the hearts of these children through the transforming truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We will have the blessing to be able to serve alongside Camp Grace’s staff throughout the week and walk alongside these children as we serve them. Some of the ways we will be able to serve include: Planning and facilitating the arts/crafts activity for the week, which all of the kids at the camp come through throughout the week; Helping set up for meals and dining with everyone at the camp to build relationships; Leading games for the children during activity time; and so much more!!
We will be staying in their lodging for mission teams, and it will be just us staying in that lodge. The cost for the week is $360/person, which covers everything including room/lodging, food (all meals), and it also includes a sponsorship for a camper for the week for camp!
Here is what I need to know for each student ASAP:
- Whether or not your student would like to attend the trip – I need yes and no responses
- What date(s) your student would be able to do – The 2 options are:
