John 1:35-51
This past Wednesday night we finished up chapter one in the Gospel of John. As we closed out the first chapter we saw that John the Baptist truly believed what he was teaching and we saw what an impact and encounter with Jesus had on several men. John the Baptist watched two of his disciples walk away and follow Jesus right before his very eyes. The part we focused on was the fact John the Baptist was willing to watch them walk away because he knew who they were following. We then saw that one of these men was a man by the name of Andrew and after spending time with Jesus the first thing he did was go get his brother and bring him to Jesus.
You continue reading in the chapter and you see Jesus calling a man by the name of Philip to follow Him. Well it wasn't long after his encounter with Jesus that he left to go find his friend Nathaniel so that he could meet Jesus. So something we see in this passage is that after spending time with Jesus this men were eager to go and bring a family member or friend to meet Jesus. The question we asked was, "what are we sharing?" Are we as eager to bring our family member(s) or friend(s) to Jesus? Jesus provides everything we need and more.
Question for the week:
What are some obstacles in our lives that are keeping us from sharing Jesus with others?
