Crossroads Graduation Info Newsletter

It's hard to believe, but high school graduation is just around the corner! As a church we believe it's important to celebrate with and recognize our graduating seniors and their families. In this newsletter, you can find all the info about how we plan to do that at Crossroads this year.

This year's plans include 3 components for graduating seniors: The Senior Video, Senior Night at Dive Student Ministry, and Grad Recognition Sunday. You can find more details about each below.

Parents of seniors, are you ready? Graduation marks one of the biggest phase shifts for teens and parents. It's bigger than just finishing high school and knowing what your fall plans are. This transition reshapes your relationship, how you communicate, and what you expect from each other. Let us help you navigate this pivotal transition! Our senior video is different this year. Instead of having everyone record their own 30-second video clips, this year, we're inviting students who have been connected at Dive to join us at 4pm on Sunday, May 4 to film a senior video together with their small group leaders (Liz and Zach). We're trying to capture more of a testimony / story feel to share with our Crossroads family. We're serve dinner for the group afterwards.

Our annual Senior Night is May 4th. We'll celebrate, remember, and share together! Dive seniors, make sure to join us!

We're recognizing graduating seniors during Crossroads' Sunday morning service on May 18 and we’d love the opportunity to highlight all of our wonderful seniors. Want to be recognized on Graduation Sunday? We need some info from you! Submissions are due by Sunday, May 11.

Will you be planning to have a graduation party or open house? In years past, we typically share open house information with our Crossroads Church family. If you're planning on a public open house (even if it's delayed until later in the summer), make sure to include that information when you submit your senior info.

Similar to guidance counseling for college, we would like to begin a conversation that centers around how to ensure your teen keeps taking steps toward Jesus after they exit high school. Each senior will be getting a packet that asks them a few questions about their post high school plans, and gives them an opportunity to set up a brief meeting with Pastor Rich to receive some counsel about their next steps and how to stay connected to Jesus and the church in the months ahead.

If you've raised a child, you know that parenting doesn't stop when they turn eighteen. In many ways, your relationship gets even more complicated--your heart and your head are as involved as ever, but you can feel things shifting, whether your child lives under your roof or rarely stays in contact.
