"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." Romans 12:12
Dear Parents,
I have been fervently praying for each of your families during this unexpected break in our ministry year. I hope that you've found joy in this season... Maybe you've spent time gathered around the table playing board games, started a movie-night tradition, or tried out new dinner recipes together. Maybe you've enjoyed time outdoors or on a family vacation! Whatever this summer brought to your family, I hope you were able to see the JOY throughout.
Finding the joy in a turbulent time like this is not easy. If you’re like me, there were definitely moments during quarantine when you just wanted to shake your fists at God and scream, “HOW MUCH LONGER WILL YOU LET THIS GO ON?”
Romans 12:12 tells us to Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer. That’s some pretty solid advice!
- We not only have hope that one day this all will end, but we have an eternal hope- the hope of salvation in Jesus! We can rejoice no matter the circumstance because of the promised place awaiting us in heaven.
- Thanks to this hope, we can be patient in tribulation. We know that earthly pain is temporary. The Lord has been by our side as we’ve endured life’s storms up to this point, and we can be confident that he will bring us through whatever may come.
- Whenever we need something-- to celebrate, to contemplate, or to ask for help-- we have a constant communication line directly to God. He faithfully hears and answers us. So in all things, we pray.
And now it’s a new month! It’s a new school year! Here we are, having spent nearly 5 months in a socially-distanced haze, and we're back! ...Kind of.
Things will certainly look different this year, but I'm hopeful! The Spirit of the Lord knows no boundaries! It has been lonely the last few months around campus and I can't wait for the day that we can all breathe fresh air together, sing praises without masks on, and give BIG hugs. Lord, let it be soon!
But until that day, here’s what we can do: rejoice, wait, and pray. I will do my best to provide resources for your family and opportunities for your children. There are a few ministry updates in this newsletter. Please take a look and reach out if you need anything at all. I am always here for your family!
In His Love,
Miss Kenzie
