“If you would like to complete this call please press one.” “The password you have entered is invalid.” “No one is available right now, please leave your name, date of birth and a brief description why you have called today, and someone will return your call as soon as possible.” If you are like me it gets really frustrating when you are trying to make a connection and speak to someone or log on to a website and everything you try seems to fail, or you have to jump through so many hoops to get where you need to be. I find myself wondering why I cannot just talk to a real person! Sometimes we are in a hurry or have the need to talk to someone right then and now, but it seems we must wait. I am grateful that is not how it is with God. I read this great story that remind us of how He is always there.
A woman was driving along when she saw a tornado coming her way, so pulled over and moments later watched as a house was demolished. Once the tornado had passed, she rushed over and saw a man coming out of a hole in the ground. "Are you okay?" she asked. "Is there anyone else in there?" "Nope", said the man. "Just me and God having an urgent conversation."
We are blessed that when it comes to connecting with God, He is always there, and we can have those urgent conversations night or day! We do not have to have an appointment; we just simply call out to Him, 24/7. One of our greatest blessings is being able to talk to God anytime, anywhere, anyhow and about all things. Just knowing that no matter where we are, God is right there as well. David in the book of Psalms penned it most beautifully when he said in Psalms 139, “If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.” I challenge you this month to try it out and connect with God, and you too will find that He always hears us and is always by our side.
Because We're His,
