Mission Trip Details
Date: June 20-25th
Cost: $150 if registered by May 15th ($175 if after May 15)*
Overnight Event? Yes. Students will be staying together overnight with adult supervision at Streetsboro/Cleveland KOA and will travel to Goss Memorial in Akron each day for their activities.
Students will be staying in Cabins slipt up by gender. Our campsite has a pool, basketball courts, campfires, and other amenities (see campground by clicking the above link) for students to enjoy in the evenings.
What is Project Shine? Project Shine is a missions camp. Students will serve the Akron community through basic home improvement projects, they will participate in worship services and Bible studies, and will have fun together through various activities.
Who can participate? Students who have completed 6th grade through graduated seniors in HS are welcome to participate. Background checked adult leaders will also attend as leaders.
What to bring? A packing list will be sent out both in May and June in the newsletter.
Students may bring a cell phone to our campsite, but will be asked to put them up while at our worksites, meals, and during our worship times.

*Please make sure that you have read the info and expectation form when you register on the project shine site. Again, we will allow students to have their Cell Phones out, but NOT during worship time, project sites, or meal times.
Lesson 1- How to Raise your Parents_Trust Builder
Students have some "control" regarding the freedom and responsibilities given to them by their parents. They can make intentional decisions that help them establish trust with their parents and will likely experience more freedom and less punishment as a result. In that way, they can "Raise" their parents.

Lesson 2- How to Raise your Parents_Selfish or Considerate
Students can choose whether they will be self-consumed or considerate of others. Their choice will definitely affect how they are treated by their parents. If students chose to be selfish and consider no one else, then they will likely not experience as much warmth coming from parents.
