As many of you already know, we made the difficult decision to not host our annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser this year. This was a tough call, as Calvary is known as "The Pumpkin Church" all over the area! I know it was the right decision, but my heart still aches as I consider what 2020, and this pandemic, continues to take from us.
Despite these woes, there is still good to be found: Calvary is holding outdoor worship services, we're starting up monthly in-person outdoor Youth Group gatherings, my family is growing by TWO (!!), and God remains at work in the world around us. While we continue to adapt to our "new normal," God is ever-faithful; there might not be a magical fix-it-all, but God remains steadfast beside us as we endure. For me: I'll still grieve the loss of this year's Pumpkin Patch; I'll also cherish the extra time with my family that October normally makes busier, and I'll thank God for being present through it all.
