Discipleship Now 2025 Info

 

Overview 

Disciple Now is our in-house retreat for 6th-12th grade that takes place MARCH 21-23, 2025. It is a weekend packed with high-energy worship, games, age-specific small group times, dynamic messages, service projects in the city of Akron and surrounding, great food, fun, and friendship. 

 

Students who participate are challenged to grow in their faith and to focus on God for the weekend. 

 

Details

It is not an overnight event. Students are encouraged to bunk up with friends who are attending DNOW. Parents are welcome to host sleepovers for the weekend, but students are also able to show up and enjoy all the activities without spending the night away from home. 

 

It is not a come-and-go event. Students may leave with their parent's written permission via the registration form for various reasons, but the experience is meant to be enjoyed in its entirety. 

 

Our Promise

We promise to create an experience that lends itself to spiritual transformation and fun. 

 

Meals

We do provide meals during the weekend. If your student(s) has a food allergy please notify us in registration form. Our food is made in large quantities, but we will do our best to accommodate and work with you to make sure your student's dietary needs are met during the weekend.

Cost

The cost of DNOW is $85 if paid before March 3rd ($95 after March 3rd). The cost covers 4 meals, a t-shirt, fun local outing (e.g. Laser Tag), study material, transportation (from event to event), and other fun features for the weekend.

Even though students are NOT staying in host homes. They still will need a few items. 

 

Friday Night (March 21):

1. Payment (if not paid)

 

Saturday All Day (March 22):

1. A pair of pants (service projects require pants)

 

2. Closed-toed shoes.

 

3. Clean pair of shoes (not crocs) for Fun Activity

 

4. A light jacket or something they can layer with to stay warm at the service project. Hat and Gloves.

 

5. Socks. They must have Socks for Fun Outing

 

6. (Optional). Money to Spend on Concessions

 

7. Deoderant and Change of Clothes for after Fun Event.

 

Sunday Morning (Mar 23)

1. Wear their Discipleship Now T-Shirt

 

Students need to make arrangements for pickup/drop off at these times.

 

Friday Night (March 21)

5 PM Check-In at church

10 PM pick up from church

 

Saturday (March 22)

7:30 am drop off at church (for breakfast...we will be leaving the church at 8:30 AM for worksites)

10:30 PM pick up from the church

 

Sunday (March 23)

8:45 AM drop off at church

12:00 PM pick up from church
