So many things have been different throughout the past year, and some things will be different from our experience of D-Now this year. One thing that, now and always, stays exactly the SAME is God's desire to move powerfully in the lives of people who follow Jesus! I am so excited about what God has in store for us through our Second D-Now Retreat at Camp Copass! Please begin praying right now for God to move in powerful ways in your life during D-Now.
Health and Safety Protocols:
Our first priority for this retreat is to provide for the safety and health of everyone in attendance, as well as the safety and health of family members we will go home to after this weekend. For that reason, all retreatants coming to D-Now should not have had a fever or shown any other symptoms of illness two weeks prior to arriving at Camp Copass.
Time Away Form:
If there is a need for you to miss any portion of the D-Now Retreat (for work, a scheduled school event, tournament, etc.), there is a "Time Away Request Form" available for families to let us know about the time that their student will be away from DNow and when we can expect them to join right back in the powerful experience with God that we are having there. Visit fbcgarland.org/dnow-time-away-request to complete the form. Time Away Request Forms are due into the Student Ministry Office by no later than Sunday, January 23.
Please bring the following items to the retreat with you:
- Bible and pen or pencil
- Pillow, sheets, and blankets or a sleeping bag (you will be sleeping on a bunk bed in a cabin, like at camp)
- Towels and washcloths
- Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, and deodorant are all essentials.
- Closed-toe shoes to wear during recreation time
- Spending money (Only if you would like to purchase something from the camp store.)
- You may bring snacks from home.
Transportation:
Students should arrive at the MAC on Friday, January 28, at 5:00 PM to check in, load your luggage, and take a seat on the bus. Buses will depart promptly at 5:30 PM.
We will return to the church on Sunday, January 30, at 12:30 PM. Buses will unload on Avenue C (between 9th St and 10th St).
Join us each Wednesday evening for Refuge Bible Study! We will worship together before hearing a message from God's Word. Afterwards, students can enjoy snacks in Common Grounds while playing foosball, ping pong, or cornhole on the Third Floor, or spend time playing in the MAC Gym until 7:45 PM.
For the next couple weeks we will be going through a series titled Help for the Hustle. We'll learn how to SLOW DOWN and savor God in a world that moves SO FAST. Check out the first in this series below in an message titled Silence & Solitude.
