Please say a big hello to our new Divisional Youth and Candidates Secretaries: Captains Dave and Jessie Kelly! For those of you that have already been to camp, this may feel like old news. But as we settle back into the Philadelphia office, your warmest greetings to our tireless leaders would be greatly appreciated. With lots of years of experience in the PenDel division, they bring valuable insights and ideas to our tiny, but mighty department. It has been a privilege and an honor for us to serve with them this summer and we certainly look forward to sharing the Youth department with these two wonderful people for the foreseeable future.

This year we will be walking with the early church through Acts. Bible Bowl is a great way to invest in your 7th through the 12th graders and teach them the discipline to stay in the word. Bible Bowl can count (just one time) for a full year of Corps Cadets.

• Bible Bowl materials can be purchased through https://www.acmequiz.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=50021 or by calling 1.800.420.2263.  When purchasing, clarify that it is for ACTS and that it’s for The Salvation Army.  We encourage you to purchase at least a study guide and scripture booklet for each of your team members.

Spring lessons are due this week if you haven't already sent them in. Student Booklets were given out at Family Camp. We will provide Student Booklets at Boot Camp, and there you can take additional if you need.

LEVEL 2

Did You Know...Hands On Mission Team participation counts as a final year of Corps Cadets? If you have Corps Cadets entering Level 2, let's talk about how they should complete their final year.

This year, the Territorial Youth Department will be joining us as our special guests! They will be teaching our Corps Cadets and teaching some of our leader's training alongside the Pendel Youth Department. It is with our leaders in mind, that we will be teaching the DECEMBER lessons on Saturday. If you start the September lesson early in the month with the start of your other youth programs you will be on a great track to completing the entire fall Corps Cadets course! 

• September: Teach the September lessons and let us teach the December lessons
• October: Teach the October lessons
• November, December, January: Find time to teach the November lessons and enjoy some brigade activities

This year's leader training, in addition to the logistics of the Corps Cadet program, will include practical lessons including marketing for your corps programs and getting free stuff. On Saturday come ready to learn, ask questions, and share your super skills! Bring your laptop if you have one.

Camp 2022

After a two year, 9 month hiatus from overnight camping, the Youth Department knocked off the dust and rust of our magnificent Camp Ladore and shared it once again, with children from all over Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware. There were a lot of challenges to starting cold poultry, but with the support of some very special guests (Major Barb George, Major Susan Wood, Major Terry Wood, Donna Bingaman, Lt. Colonels Janet and Larry Ashcraft) and the miraculous provision of an amazing summer staff, God himself supplied everything we needed to make the summer an emphatic win for the kingdom of Heaven. For all the officers, employees, and especially our volunteers, who sent children from your community: thank you! We praise God that of the 451 campers who attended this summer (many of them came for more than one week), 406 made a new commitment or recommitment to Christ this summer. That means 90% of the children who enrolled and attended camp, also enrolled to be in God’s glorious presence for ever and ever. Amen!

New Soldiers

Have you recently enrolled new Junior or Senior Soldiers? We have a gift for them! Let us know about your new soldiers age 7-35 so we can send them our congratulations.

Troop Registration

The deadline for Troops registration is October 17^th. This summer, children from across the division earned over 150 emblems at Program Camp! Troops is an excellent opportunity for outreach, ministry, and for cultivating creativity within the children of our local communities. If you had children who participated in Troops this summer, then you already have experienced troop-members ready to learn more with you this program year.

The pictures have been rolling in from all of the different fun and enriching Vacation Bible Schools around the division. We thank the corps officers, staff, corps members, and volunteers who worked so hard to make this ministry possible. We were blessed to see it and we know the kids were blessed to be a part of it!

Hands On

Hands On is a short-term, summer missions program designed for our Young Adults ages 18 to 28. Applications open in the fall and require an active passport. Now is a great time to talk to your Young Adults!
