1. that you and your family experience the wonder of "Immanuel...God with us".

2. that you and your family do everything you can to point to God's glory in the birth of Jesus, so that your hearts will, by grace, be captured by awe of Him.
 

3. that you and your family will dwell long and hard on the demonstrated and proven love of God: sending the gift of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

4. that you and your family see and savor the beauties and excellencies of Jesus.

CHRISTMAS READING LIST

 

My family, like so many others, takes time to read the story of Jesus' birth on Christmas. A little over five years ago I put together a reading from Scripture that has become our Christmas reading list. I developed this reading list because I want my family to reflect on and remember the purpose for which Jesus came. So every Christmas morning we wake up, open our Bibles, and read the following in order:

 

John 1:1-13

Philippians 2:6-7

John 1:14

Luke 2:1-20

Philippians 2:8

Matthew 27:27-50

Matthew 27:57-61 & Luke 24:1-6a

Philippians 2:9-11

 

I hope this encourages you to spend time each Christmas to open the Word and celebrate the purpose of Christmas. 

CHRISTMAS JOKES FOR YOUR TEENS

 

Why not share some jokes with your teenager while you bake cookies, decorate, shop, wrap gifts, or travel. I can't guarantee you'll get a laugh, but I'm confident you'll get an good eye roll!
