We have moved into a curriculum study, jumping back into the Gospel Project study that the rest of our church is in. This will be something to bring unity between our ministry and the rest of the church, as well as helping us to put into practice all we learned from our How To Study the Bible book.
The Gospel Project is a Bible study resource that invites adults, students, and kids of all ages to dive deeply into God’s story of redemption through Jesus Christ. In every lesson, participants are immersed in the gospel and learn that when the gospel works on them, they become a part of the story, too, the very hands and feet in God’s gospel project.
The Volume 6 study, From Captivity to Restoration focuses on God’s faithfulness to restore His people despite their rebellion. In these sessions, students will meet the prophets and leaders God raised up to lead the project of returning His people to His land and establishing them under His rule—a project that ultimately looks forward to the coming of Jesus and the redemption He accomplished. Through this study, students will see that God’s love for them does not waiver—He is committed to their restoration, transformation, and flourishing.
Jumping back into the same study as the rest of our church will also allow us to better partner with parents and encourage them to actively engage their student in conversation over what we are all learning together each week. In your interactions with parents, take some time to challenge them and partner with them to disciple their student at home. Through your experiences of leading students, you have great knowledge and application of how to take scripture and guide students to be "doers of the word"... let's help parents by passing on those experiences and being a resource to them.
Each week we will be sending out additional teaching resources to help prepare for lessons and better coordinate weekly teaching with daily discipleship opportunities. You will be able to find those resources using the google drive link below. Click on the link and it will pull up these resources for you to view or download. We will also be sending out corresponding parent resources each week in our parent newsletter. Again, all to help further drive home to lessons and teachings from each week. Here is a quick rundown of how to use each of these resources:
- Leader Training = this is a one page overlook at the lesson showing the main goal, scripture, key question, and application
- One Sheet = use this resource to better drive home to essential doctrine for each week, as well as additional questions to get discussion going in your group
- Midweek Event = this is a follow up session that can be sent out to your group or discussed midweek. Maybe through text, group phone call, or physical meet up. Again, another resource to help dive deeper together
- Family Connection = this resource will be sent out to families as a way to connect together over what is being taught each week. Encourage your students to engage in this opportunity, and find ways to be a resource for parents through this connection

Our lessons will all be accessed online through Lifeway's web based reader platform. Use the following link to create an account and access our media content. There you'll find each unit session with more teaching content than we'll be able use in one week! A main point, bible passages, activity and illustration options, questions, fill in the blanks, bible commentary, a highlighted essential doctrine, and a "Christ Connection" outlining how each lesson ties back into the Gospel message. With so much great material, I am excited and expectant of a solid season of Bible Study!
