Monthly Kids Update: September
I hope your kids are having a good start their school years. As we head back into the rhythms of the school year we have a lot coming up. Here is what you need to know for September and Beyond.
1) Parent Survey:It has been a blessing to see more and more families call Severn Run their home each week. Since it is the start of the school year we thought it would be a great time to have you all fill out a survey. This is an opportunity for us to learn a little bit more about you and your families. Please use this link to fill out the survey.
2) Wonder Ink-September 7 @ 9:30 am & 11:00 am: I am excited to officially announce that we will be starting a new curriculum called Wonder Ink on September 7th. Kid's often have lots of questions, and one thing that Wonder Ink is all about is that faith begins with wonder. We will explore 4 foundational truths through this curriculum: God Knows, Jesus Loves Me, The Holy Spirit Leads Me, and I am a Child of God. One unique feature is the Wonder at home. You are invited to join our online portal where you can do activities at home with your kids! 3) Memory Verse- September 28 @ 9:30 & 11:00 am:One of our core values as a kids ministry is to see God's word stored in the hearts of kids. With our new curriculum we will continue to have a memory verse with each unit. Your elementary aged kids will have an opportunity to say it for a prize. Our memory verse is Psalm 90:2 NIRV.
4) You're Invited Sunday-October 5 @ 9:30 & 11:00 am: More details will come as we get closer, but we are having a special Sunday designed to invite friends to. This will be a great opportunity to help people get connected and learn more about Severn Run.
5) Fall Fest-October 26 @ 3-5:30 pm: More details will come as we get closer, but our next Fall Fest is coming up. This is one of our biggest community events, and it is a great opportunity to invite a friend to. There will be food trucks, bounce houses, trunk r treat, and more fun things to do with the whole family.
6) Parent Commissioning Class-November 2nd @ 11:00 am: Our next Parent Commissioning Class is coming up. This class is an amazing opportunity to connect with families in similar seasons of life. The class provides you all with information on how we as a next gen ministry partner with families. This class is required to participate in child dedication. 7) Child Dedication-November 30 @ 9:30 & 11:00 am: We will have our next dedication coming up during the November 30th services. This is an opportunity for families to be celebrated and prayed over as they declare that their home is their first mission field. You can learn more and sign up with this link.
8) Sub with us in Kids Ministry: As we are wrapping up the summer we are still looking for some people to join our sub team. Our sub team is a critical part of helping make Sunday mornings the best experience possible. Subs sign up for one weekend and service a month. It is very flexible, and it is a great opportunity for you all to learn more about what we do as a kids ministry on Sunday mornings. You can sign up to join our sub team with this link.
9) Serve with us in Kids Ministry: As we begin the school year we are looking for some more leaders to join the team. This is an exciting time to join. If you are interested in learning more about serving in kids ministry you can sign up for a kids training using this link.
10) Curriculum & Room Set up Team Members Needed: One thing that I am praying for going into the new school year is to have a couple of people serve kids ministry by coming in during the week to help set up the kids space.
