Welcome to our newsletter! We realize that sometimes these things can be confusing! Here is a little rundown for you! First off, What is SWAP? SWAP stands for Students With A Passion. We are passionate about growing in Jesus and in community! So when you see SWAP that is what that means.
When do we meet? Glad you asked. We meet twice a week for programming both of which are in the SWAP Space, downstairs. First is Sunday Mornings at 9AM. Secondly we meet on Wednesday Nights from 6:30-8pm. Students grade 6-12 are welcome to attend any of these programs, no registration needed, just show up, even bring a friend along too.
There are events throughout the year that pop up. These events might be more specific and need more details and registration forms. That is where this newsletter is helpful, although we think the Edinbrook App will also serve as a great tool. We hope this newsletter helps you gather the info you need for your students to connect with be a part of our community!

This Tuesday is SWAP Middle School Lake Day! If you haven’t signed up yet you can still do so at the link below!
Tuesday, July 18 | 1-6pm | Turtle Lake County Park in Shoreview
Hey Middle Schoolers, Join SWAP Middle School on July 18th for Lake Day! We will head to the lake, ride some boats, eat great food and have a ton of fun! The cost of the event is $10, invite a friend! ***Please note that Lake Day takes the place of regular Wednesday July 19th activities for Middle School.
This Wednesday is SWAP High School Bonfire Night at the Gilbert’s! We will meet at the Gilbert’s house (8209 Russell Ave N Brooklyn Park, MN 55444) at 9pm and we will end the night at 10:30 pm! S’mores and Bottled Water will be provided, bring a camping chair to sit on and a snack you want to share.
EXPLORERS and ROOTED meet the 9AM service, in the SWAP space downstairs. EXPLORERS is the Middle School Bible Study and ROOTED is the High School Bible Study.
We cannot wait to hangout with you all on Sunday Mornings at 9AM!
Wednesday, August 2 | 6:30-8 PM | Meet at Church
Hey Middle School! On August 2nd we are having a Tye Dye Night! Bring a clean plain white tee to dye that night! Also the dye that stains the shirt can stain your other clothes so consider that as you dress for that night!
Wednesday, August 16 | 6-9 PM | Meet at Church
Hey Middle School! We are going to Urban Air Coon Rapids for a time of jumping, running and laughing! Cost is $30. This includes jump time , socks, a bottle of water and 2 slices of pizza!
Hey Parents! We know that planning can be really difficult! So we thought it would be a good idea to throw out the dates for some of our really big events. Hope this helps your family plan ahead!
Middle School Fall Retreat: September 29th-October 1, 2023 (Typical Cost: $175)
High School Fall Retreat: October 20th-22nd, 2023 (Typical Cost: $175)
Winter Retreat 2024: January 12th-14th, 2024 (Typical Cost: $175)
District Blitz 2024: April 19th-21st, 2024. (Typical Cost: $175-$200)
C.H.A.O.S Middle School Event: April 27th, 2024 (Cost TBD)
High School Mission Trip 2024: July 20th-27th 2024 (Estimated Cost $1600-$1900)

We know that sometimes the best moments for connection are across a table at a coffee shop, playing disc golf, or eating ice cream. To connect with a small group leader and/or Tyler, Abby, or your small group leaders in a more personal setting, Request a One-on-One!
SHARE YOUR STUDENT EVENTS WITH US
We love to support our students in their activities! Whether it be a soccer game, a play, a chess tournament, or a piano recital, we LOVE having the opportunity to celebrate what our students are doing. Share your Student Events with us so Tyler, Abby, and your small group leader can be notified to come to your event.

The CPYU Parent Page is a monthly newsletter designed by the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding to help keep parents informed about the latest happenings and trends in the world of youth culture.
Each issue will be delivered via the SWAP Newsletter e-mail and available in two formats. A digital online format ideal for reading on your computer screen, tablet, or mobile phone, or if you prefer as a downloadable PDF that can be printed, copied, e-mailed, or even mailed!
The goal of this Parent Page is to help parents and youth workers understand and respond to the complex world of their children and teens from a distinctively Christian point of view is what CPYU is all about.
