RSM Parent Newsletter- Nov. Edition

MDWK is our Wednesday Night programming for 6th-12th Grade Students. It takes place every Wednesday Night from 6:00-7:30 and consists of intentional hangout time, some snacks, game or worship, message and small group discussion.

MDWK is designed to be more high energy and invite friendly so students are more encouraged to invite their friends to a Wednesday Night. 

We also have what we call MDWK+ takes place the last Wednesday of the month for approximately an hour after MDWK ends (7:30-8:30).  The design of MDWK+ is to give students an intentional night that is even more high energy and enticing for them to invite their friends.  They would come to MDWK get a glimpse of what that looks like and then stick around for something fun and engaging.  Past MDWK+ events have ranged from things like Kickball to Bob Ross Paint Nights to Board Game Nights, to mini golf in the Ridge to even Ax Throwing

We have our last MDWK+ date for the semester Nov. 29th.  So encourage your student(s) to be thinking about what friends they can invite in a couple weeks. This month will be FRIENDSGIVING from 7:30-8:30.  Students will need to bring a Thanksgiving Side Dish or Dessert to MDWK and We will provide the meats.

THERE WILL BE NO MDWK November 22nd due to Thanksgiving Break! 

November 29th will also be our last MDWK of the semester.  We will take a break and resume Jan. 10th

"Sunday Night Study" (formerly CRASH/At) is for our High School Students (9th-12th Grade) from 6:00-7:30 on Sunday Nights.  Sunday Night Study will kick off September 10th.  This is a chance to go deeper with our High School students in areas that we may not get to cover on Sunday Mornings or Sunday Nights. This Semester at Sunday Night Study we will be taking our Students through the new Ridge Pathway content similar to that of some of the new adult groups that are starting.

There are only a couple Sunday Nights left for our High School Students.  November 19th & then Nov. 26th will be the last one of the semester.

Mid-Winter is For High School Students (grades 9-12): mark your calendars now for Mid-Winter Retreat 2024, Jan. 13-15. It's a weekend getaway at Sunset Bible Camp in Mannford, OK. This retreat (held with nearly 10 other area Youth Groups) is a chance to get away for the weekend from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It provides the opportunity for students to build relationships with each other in addition to strengthening their relationship with God. 

Elements for the weekend include: great worship, awesome messages, time alone with God and Saturday activities like Bowling, or Axe Throwing. And don't forget the optional Polar Bear Plunge!

Dates & Times:

• Friday, January 12th: 
  • BA Campus Students Meet at the Ridge at 4:30 p.m. (We'll eat dinner at the camp).
  • Coweta Campus Students Meet at The Church at 4:30 p.m (We'll eat dinner at the camp).
• Sunday, January 14th: 
  • BA Campus Students Return to the BA Campus at 12:15
  • Coweta Campus Students Return to the Coweta Campus at 12:30.

Cost:
Register by December 11th for the lowest price. A $30 deposit is due upon registration

• $75 if registered before December 11th
• $85 if registered between December 11th and December 31st
• $95 if Registered after December 31st

*Mid-Winter 2024 hoodies are available for $18 (They'll look exactly like the logo / white hoodie with black graphic). If you'd like a soft, comfy sweatshirt be sure to indicate your size preference in the "Add-On" section of the registration page. The Hoodie order must be placed by Dec. 21st so to ensure a hoodie make sure you are registered and we have your size before this date.

Each student will also need to complete a 2024 Cedar Ridge Medical Release Form.
