March 2024 Newsletter

Join us each Wednesday evening for Refuge Bible Study!  We will worship together before hearing a message from God's Word.  Afterwards, students can enjoy snacks in Common Grounds while playing foosball, ping pong, or carpet ball on the Third Floor, or spend time playing in the MAC Gym until 8:00 PM.  Be sure to bring a friend!

We will not be meeting for Refuge Bible Study on Wednesday, March 13 due to it being Spring Break week. 

Don't be a square from squaresville, daddy-o! Join us on Wednesday, March 20 for a special Theme night Refuge back in time to the 50's. We will have fun music, a special snack, and a mystery game! 

Be sure to dress up in your best 50's era garb. Leather jackets, letterman sweaters, poodle skirts, diner chic, etc. All Beatniks, Dreamboats, and Greasers welcome! 

Don't go cruisin' for a bruisin' and miss out on a special Refuge back in time to the 50's!

A group of our High School Students are going to the Rio Grande Valley to work with Buckner and build houses. They will be driving down on Saturday, March 9 and will be returning Wednesday, March 13. Please be sure to keep the team in your prayers and check the Student Ministry Facebook page for pictures!

Join Preston for a nature walk, picnic, and time of meditation. You will need closed-toe walking shoes, a full water bottle, and a snack. You might also want to bring a towel in case it is muddy. See you there!

Come see Kung Fu Panda 4 with us at AMC Firewheel on Wednesday, March 13 from 6:30-8:45 pm. Students will be responsible for their own tickets, snacks, and rides. 

Come to Blaze Pizza on Lakeview Pkwy on March 15 from 12-1 pm for fun, fellowship, and pizza. 

When: Saturday, March 16. 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

What: Workday for widowed church members helping them with yard work, minor repairs and plumbing issues, painting, and other tasks they can't do for themselves.

Where: Meet in the red parking log near the Friendship House under the trees.

Please plan on attending our Soul Sisters Movie Night on Friday, March 22.  It will be from 6-8:30pm in Main Stage.  We will watch "The Jesus Revolution" and have pizza and snacks. Everyone attending will need to enter through the chapel doors between 5:30-6:30. If you are going to be late please let someone know to come let you in or you will be locked out. This is for our own safety :)

Apply for College Scholarships

Date: Applications are OPEN

Details: If you are a graduating senior of the class of 2024 or currently attending college, you can apply to receive scholarship money through our church for the 2024-2025 school year. In order to be considered by the Scholarship committee for scholarships, you must be a church member of FBC Garland. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is Sunday, March 24. There will be no exceptions to the application dead line. The Scholarship Committee will meet in mid-April to consider scholarship applications.
