SUMMER CAMP 2024!

 

For FSM students and leaders camp will be one of the best weeks of the summer, full of community, and a great opportunity to grow with God!

We're looking forward to being able to come together for fun, competition, relationship-building, worship, sharing from scripture, learning, and more!

Two reasons come to mind:

 

1) Jesus told us that he came so that we can have life to the full! Camp at Washington Family Ranch is abundant and full of fun (seriously--it will be the highlight of their summer). Every year, we see lots of smiles, create amazing memories, and see new life-long friendships form. We love everything about that, and we honestly believe that God loves everything about that because he loves being a part of the moments we love most.

 

2) We believe that environments like this are the way every student can take one step closer to Jesus! That's our goal at camp: one step closer to Jesus. A week of camp is like a year's worth of Sundays when it comes to relationship building, Bible teaching, and growth. You don't want to miss Summer Camp!

This year's camp is for all students currently enrolled in 5^th-12^th grade. In other words, all students entering 6th grade (Middle School) next year through the class of 2024 are invited to camp!

 

This year, we have ONE week of camp! Camp for middle and high school students starts Thursday, August 15th, and goes through Monday, August 19th.

 

Last year, we reimagined much of how we do camp, and this year, we are building on that success! Rest assured, every day, we will have two sessions (morning and evening). The morning will be focused on individual growth and devotional time. The evening sessions will be combined with Calvary Community Church (from Sumner) and Anthem Church (from Hayden, ID). We will still have a mix of combined and age split activities for Middle age-split all-c and High School.

SUMMER CAMP IS THURSDAY, AUGUST 15th - MONDAY, AUGUST 19th

 

We will meet at Faith on the morning of the 16th and head to camp together, so there is no need to worry about how to get students to camp. Students need to arrive with all their luggage and a sack lunch (or cash for lunch) that morning. Dinner will be at camp that evening. Don’t worry too much about these details, you will see them a few more times; this is just to get us started.

 

Camp is at Creekside at Washington Family Ranch (you can check out their website, but please know that we've rented out their facility, so some of the final details will be a little different. The website, however, will give you a feel for the facilities and activities). The address of the camp is:

Camp ends the morning of Monday the 19th; we plan to be home in the evening. Students will need to bring some money for a late lunch stop* on the way home and should plan to have dinner at home.

 

*If purchasing a lunch is a burden for your family, please let us know so we can coordinate an alternative lunch plan for your student.

The cost covers travel, meals, the program, the activities, any summer camp takeaways, photos, and any other camp expenses that may arise.

 

Here are the payment options:

1) Pay in full at registration starting 4/14/24:

Camp is $650 - A one-time payment at registration.

 

2) Payment plan:

Camp is $650 - 4-Part Payment Plan*—This year, our payment plan is automated, and you will need to bring a debit or credit card to set up your reoccurring payments (this is another cost and time saving measure).

Payment 1 (Deposit): $125 non-refundable deposit is due at registration (starting 4/14/24)

Payment 2 (Installment): An additional $175 is due by Sunday, May 12th

Payment 3 (Installment): An additional $175 is due by Sunday, June 9th

Payment 4 (Final Installment): The remaining $175 is due by Sunday, July 14th

 

Sunday, July 14th, is the LAST day to register for Camp (if spots are available) and the last day to drop out.

Anyone registered on that day will owe the entire balance, even if they cannot attend camp.

 

We will be doing a drawing the week after every payment for Tin Cup (snack shack) credit. How do you get your name entered? Stay up to date on your payment plan (or pay in full).

 

How can I afford that?

1. Save. We announced a tentative cost in December so that you could start saving, and our final cost came just a little higher. On top of that, you have a few months left to save. Students, do what you have to do: start babysitting, do yard work, get a Summer job, sell some things, etc.
2. Call. You have family, friends, uncles, grandparents, and neighbors who like you a lot! Give them a call, send them a letter, sit down, and have a chat to see if they would be willing to sponsor you! Every year, we have students who get part of camp paid for by people who love them. People know that camp changes lives, so they want to help cover the cost of camp to invest in you and see your life changed forever!
3. Fundraise. Individually or with friends, you can always host a fundraiser! There are families that have hosted childcare events, multi-family garage sales, or offered classes to teach their skills to others. What is something you can do as an individual, a family, or a Group that could help raise money for camp? 4. Scholarship. We have scholarship money available. If you need help paying for camp, there is help! You will need to fill out a scholarship application (which is also available in a printed version at Faith). The forms need to be in by Sunday, May 12th. There may be opportunities beyond that week, but in order to get a response to you in a timely manner with guaranteed funds, we need the forms in as early as possible. Please note that a deposit is still required except for very special cases (if you believe you have a special case, please email Jake ([email protected]).

 

Money should not be an issue. If the above options still do not cover the cost of camp and money is an issue please contact us so we can make special arrangements. Money should not stop anyone from coming to camp!

In years past I (Jake) have had students get camp completely paid for by grandparents and by doing fundraisers; we had others that received significant discounts through the scholarships available. With a little bit of work and extra thought camp is possible for everyone BUT you have to start working on plans NOW!

 

*We have an option for special cases if you need your payments split into five smaller payments. The final payment would be due August 11th. Please email Billy ([email protected]) to set that up.

Registration for summer camp opens at our Summer Camp Blitz on Sunday, April 14th, at 11:45 AM (after the second service). This means registration will be at Faith, in person, from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM (or until we're done). If you cannot make it to church that afternoon, registration links will be added below by 5:00 PM that evening.

In preparation for the Blitz, use the links below to complete the items like our release form and scholarship application.

 

 

If you can't make it to the Blitz, follow the simple 3-step registration process that will open on 4/14/2024 after the Blitz ends, around 5:00 PM. You will want to register as soon as you can because space is limited, and we will not be able to get more spots.

 

Step One:

Register EACH student online and pay the $125 non-refundable deposit or more. All future payments will be made online. You can also request scholarship assistance by filling out a scholarship application; we will have printed copies upon registration.

Step Two:

Make sure each student has turned in a 2024 FSM Release Form. If you need to know if you've turned one in for your student, email Billy ([email protected]). If you filled one out for In & Out: Cook Off, our FSM Ski Day, or preemptively because you are super on top of it, you are good to go for Summer Camp and the rest of 2024 (unless you turn 18)!

 

Before registration starts at Blitz, we will draw the name of one student with their release form completed and confirmed by 11:30 AM on Blitz day. The winner will have their deposit ($150) paid for! You must be present to win.

Step Three:

Fill out an online YoungLife Release Form (please select "Calvary Church August 15-19, 2024" as your Group or Church Name).

 

***Your student is not registered for camp until all three steps are complete***

 

Three points of note:

1) Sunday, July 14th, is the LAST day to register for Camp (if spots are available) and the last day to drop out. Anyone registered on that day will owe the entire balance, even if they cannot attend camp.

2) A suggested packing list is available here.

3) By the Friday before Camp, a final parent email will be sent out with all the last-minute details: exact times, leaders' contact info, camp info, general info, and answers to any FAQs.

One final note: if you, your young adult children, or someone else you know would be interested in helping out at camp as part of our Work Crew or is a Certified Life Guard, would you please email Billy ([email protected]) and let him know? These roles are free to you, save us thousands of dollars, and help make camp even more life-changing for students.
