RSM Parent Newsletter- Back-To-School Edition (Aug & Sept.)

Hey Parents & Guardians,

Welcome to a Back-To-School Edition of the RSM Newsletter !!  This means the Summer has come to a close, and usually entails back-to-school shopping, meet-the-teacher, and schedule pick up, etc.  Which also means school has started or about to start is just on the horizon and students are excited (or dreading) to get their new school/class schedule.  For ministry it means we are winding down the Summer events and activities and switching to school-calendar programs kicking back off, for example things like: MDWK, Small Groups, and Sunday Night Study.

Since we are letting the cat out the bag, lets dive into this "Back-to-school" Newsletter Content for Ridge Student Ministry...

Sunday Mornings at 9:00 In the Ridge consists of Small Group Lesson & Discussion. We take a break from Small Groups in the Summer and will resume those on Sept. 13thth, the Sunday after Labor Day.

All Summer we have been studying the Minor Prophets, and only have a few more left to study.  When we start back into Small Groups we will be doing a series all semester called "3:16" where we will look at the various 3:16 passages in the New Testament and see what they have to teach us.  We will be using the Discovery Bible Method in Small Groups.  Here's how the next few weeks look:

August 9th- Habakkuk

August 16th- Zephaniah

August 23th- Haggai

August 30th- Zechariah

Sept. 6th- Malachi

Sept. 13th- 3:16 Series starts & Small Groups Start Back Up!!

Much has changed at Ridge Christian over the past year or so.  It is our desire to see adults (and students alike) plugged into a Ridge Group and Serving somewhere.  If you are not in a Ridge Group, we highly encourage you do join one.  Ridge Pathway is a great way to get introduced into a Ridge Group.  We will have one starting up Mid-September so be looking for that.  In the meantime, if you are interested in joining a group, just click on this Form: RIDGE GROUPS.

Same thing for serving, it is a great way to get connected and grow in your faith.  If you are interested in serving, or want a ministry team leader to get in contact with you, fill out this form: INTERESTED IN SERVING (or Sign-up for one of our upcoming Serve Tours and you can see the various ministries in Action.  There is actualy one coming up on August 18th: https://ridgechristian.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/2063036

In addition to Parents/Adults Serving, it is also our desire to see Students Serving.  This is not to replace their times of Worship or Small Group, but to have it be an additional element to their spiritual growth on a Sunday Morning.  Students can serve in the various ministries once a month on a Sunday Morning during the 9:00 hour so they don't miss out on their Small Group Time at 10:30.

Parents and guardians, don't forget to join our "Parents of HS Students" & "Parents of MS Students" Groups.  We use these groups as our main means of communication.  But to do so you need to click on the following links and "JOIN" the respective group your student(s) in.  And if you have students in both age groups, make sure to click on both links.
