What a strange and awesome February we had! No snow for most of the month and nice spring-like temperatures. We also had some incredible events and a lot of growth in our ministry! March has an incredible opportunity for spiritual growth with Lent and the time leading up to Easter. We have challenged all of our students to consider if there is something that is taking up time that they know they should be spending with God and to give it up with the rest of the congregation who are participating in Lent. Hopefully you guys have some awesome family moments through talking about sacrifice and fasting! Let's dive in to recaps and updates:
February Recap
Snow Camp with out High Schoolers was an amazing weekend of worship, learning, and fun! We hope your students had a blast at Miracle Camp. We are moving towards making our Snow Camp Experiences our biggest retreat of the year every year. We had 42 students and leaders join us for the weekend and 8 students decided to recommit their daily lives to pushing the boundaries of comfortable Christianity.
Chillyfest was an awesome time of intergenerational connection and some amazing Chili. Thank you so much to everyone who participated and helped make the event something special. We are off to a good start with our missions fundraising!
March Updates
Check the calendar below for the most pertinent information regarding the events coming up in March. We would also encourage you to print that section off and stick it on your fridge for a quick reference. Here are a few of the highlights.
March 18th is an incredible event called BeYOUtiful. It's for all ladies aged 9-99 and will be a great day of defining beauty through the lens of Christ. All gsYouth girls are able to attend this event for FREE! All your daughter must do to get her free ticket is visit the ministry counter on Sunday morning and let them know that they are a gsYouth student. We also need help from male students to set up, tear down, and help with behind the scenes stuff for the event. Please encourage your sons to help serve the ladies of our church for this awesome event!
We are having our next Missions Meeting on Sunday, March 19. This will be a training day and breakout day for your students, so you do not have to attend - just make sure your student is here if they are going on a Missions Trip. It will be happening in the Venue from 12:15-1:15. If your students would like pizza, we will have it available for $3. Also, the absolute last day to turn in support letters is this day!
We are also having our next Parent Meeting the following night, March 20th. We will meet in the Venue from 7 pm - 8 pm to check in, hear from you guys, and continue to give you resources. We would love to have you join us!
